Picks of the Week – GW10 Roundup

So, thats the end of another fantasy football week. Now its time for a quick analysis before moving on to planning for the GW11 Picks of the Week. This is the Picks of the Week – GW10 Roundup!

Goalkeeper Tom Heaton done better than expected this week as Burnley drew against Man United. The in form shot-stopper was credited with 11 saves, which saw him rise to the top of the BPS for the match.

With the tough fixture out the way Heaton is looking a good option for the next two gameweeks. Burnley’s next fixtures are Crystal Palace home and then West Brom away after the international break.

Dejan Lovren had a bit of a shaky start against Crystal Palace. His mishit pass to Karius cost Liverpool the clean sheet early in the first half. He was able to rally after that, getting on the scoresheet from a Coutinho corner.

Lovren wasn’t in the running for any bonus points after a McArthur brace and Coutinho picking out passes for fun. But, I’ll take is goal as recompense for his howler early in the match.

Unfortunately, Charlie Daniels is the weak link in the defence after Bournemouth lost 2-0 to Middlesbrough. He finished with 1 of his starting points with the two goals conceded taking away the other.

The wildcard Adama Traoré wasn’t able to directly contribute to Middlesbrough win but was still able to earn 3 points.

There are promising signs from the young former Barcelona B player, he’ll be one to keep a close eye on as Middlesbrough look to keep their Premier League status.

It was interesting to see that he was selected by an extra 5,792 managers this week. His performance against Arsenal obviously catching a few eyes.

Roberto Firmino was on the scoresheet against Palace after running onto a perfectly weighted ball from Henderson and delightfully lifting it over the keeper.

Firmino received a soft yellow card for removing his shirt during his celebrations, which cost his managers an extra point. Overall, a quiet game from the Brazilian but extra points to the weekly total.

The early kick-off between Sunderland and Arsenal started the fantasy football week off nicely. Alexis Sánchez grabbed a brace along with Giroud to win 4-1.

Giroud topped the BPS despite coming on as a 69th minute substitute with Sánchez clocking 40 in the BPS. That gave Sánchez an extra 2 bonus points to take his total to 13 for the week.

The final player to play Saturday is none other than Sergio Agüero. The little Argentine has seemingly put any rumours about his place at Man City to bed.

Kun grabbed two goals in the first half and then went on to assist Gündoğan in the second. That leaves him sitting pretty with 16 points for the week, just short of Gündoğan’s 18 points.

At the end of play on the Saturday of GW10 the Picks have earned a total of 57 points.

The early fixture on Sunday saw Dimitri Payet in action against Everton. West Ham’s performances seemed to be turning around, winning their last two heading in to the match.

In the end, The Hammers underwhelmed. The defence that was solid last year is crumbling and the attack that thrilled has fizzled. Payet had a decent game, but couldn’t provide any spark to lift his team mates.

In the end, the midfielder earned 2 points, sharing the highest GW points total of the West Ham team. A tough run of fixtures are coming for West Ham, it will be a bold move to keep him after the next GW.

Nemanja Matić and Diego Costa started in a rejuvenated Chelsea squad after going three at the back. Chelsea have now won their last four and not conceded since their formation switch.

Matić was added to the squad after being a surprise name at the top of the assist ranking. Until yesterday he had an assist in his last three Premier League games. He wasn’t able to play provider this week but did get a clean sheet bonus.

Costa is in devastating form, now scoring 8 goals in 10 Premier League games. He is certainly enjoying his role in Conte’s Chelsea and has even added two assists so far.

Chelsea have a tough fixture against Everton in GW11, the Toffee’s have the second best defence behind Spurs so Costa will have to earn any chance next week.

The points total after the two games on Sunday saw the Picks on 69 points.

Monday Night Football saw Stoke host Swansea and the one remaining player, Ryan Shawcross, in the starting XI.

The game started quickly and saw Swansea lose their clean sheet in the 3rd minute, with Stoke following in the 8th minute.

Shawcross found himself 3rd in Stoke’s BPS but missed out after Routledge found the net from a Sigurdson cross. In the end, Shawcross finished the game with 2 points.

The total score for the GW10 Picks of the Week is 71 points. Not a bad starting point, especially when no captain selected. We’ll be looking for the same next week.
